Welcome to the The Introvert Leader Dispatch (Newsletter).

My name is Austin Hopkins, and people call me the Introvert Leader.

Although I’m an Introvert, I was a senior leader in the finance industry for more than a decade.

Early in my career, being an introvert felt like it was a disadvantage. I would constantly feel insecure about being different from those around me. Most career advice told me I should network with anyone and everyone in order to get ahead. I tried this approach for a while, but ultimately, it drained my energy and made me feel worse.

So, at some point in my career, I realized there was no point in being embarrassed about what made me unique. So, instead, I decided to lean into being an introvert.

To my delight, it worked. I was fortunate to create and build out multiple departments at Fortune 100 banks and top-tier credit unions on both coasts.

Then, at the start of 2023, I left my finance career to go out on my own.

With the support of my fantastic wife Asya and two golden retrievers (Nala & Lady), I decided to build something for myself.

I was nervous, but I felt called to start helping those around me become the best version of themselves.

So, I started a podcast called “The Introvert Leader Podcast.” In the nine months since I launched it, we have had over 10k downloads and listeners in over 100 countries around the globe!

It seems the more I share my perspective on navigating a career, the more folks want to hear from me, which leads me to why I wanted to launch The Introvert Leader Dispatch.
